Current information on coronavirus

Main points in brief

  • Limited examination and work/laboratory placement activities resumed on 13 May.
  • The main entrances to buildings needed for the examinations and work/laboratory placements are open.
  • ULB has been extending its services gradually since the beginning of May. From 08 June, a limited number of study places will be available again.
  • Starting on 02 June, the regulations stipulated in the service agreement regarding work from home/telework will be back in effect as a rule. Exceptions are possible in order to make it possible to adhere to the relevant hygiene and social distancing regulations and to accommodate the needs of employees who belong to a high-risk group or who care for young children/children with special needs.
  • See this link for HHU’s hygiene policy with information on working in offices and laboratories, examinations and work placements/internship.
  • We recommend wearing a cloth face covering (e.g. textile facemask, scarf, bandana) when you are on campus and the required physical distance of 1.5 metres cannot be maintained as a rule.
  • Non-public committee meetings are permitted again. A record of all persons present must be kept for all committee meetings.
  • Regulations and support available to scientists can be found on this page. It concerns available support in connection with childcare, information regarding the renewal of fixed-term contracts, academic procedures, research sabbaticals and regulations regarding teaching requirements.
  • Currently we are receiving many faked e-mails at HHU that are allegedly sent by ZIM or WHO – please be alert.
